Last year I attended my first film festival – now I am managing one. Film festivals are a rollercoaster of emotions. I’ve never seen so many amazing films and met the people behind them! What I appreciate the most is the atmosphere that everyone shares – the guests, the filmmakers and the team.

A good short film has to grab my attention, make me think and then never let me go.

Very rarely people are so welcoming the way they are at cellu l’art. After a short time I was already organizing my first film evening and could experience my first festival. Now that I’m on the board I have a bit more responsibility and am excited what a great team can achieve. Fantastic!

A good short film has to do things within minutes, a normal length film has hours to do: to tell a story that is moving!

A coincident brought me to the association and now I’m very glad to be part of such in inspiring team. I can live out my passion for moving art and culture.

A good short film doesn’t have to do anything – but is allowed everything!

A friend and colleague of mine had a good sense of my interests and persuaded me to go to a weekly session of the association. I think it’s fantastic to create something so great, valuable and exciting with such a diverse group. If you’ve done it once, you’re in for it.

A good short film has to be like a rollercoaster ride: You’re lifting up slowly and during the descend you’re experiencing a mixture of all kinds of different emotions and when it’s all over – you want to do it all over again.

I joined cellu l’art just one month after I moved to Jena. I was watching a competition block and I thought it was interesting that an international short film festival was happening in a rather tranquil town and you could participate in it. I’m looking forward to see how it evolves.

A good short film doesn’t have to…but can.

The spirit and commitment of enthusiastic short film lovers made me an active member of cellu l’art and to organize a film evening. I especially like the country focus of the festival. I am pleased to help out with the organization and the programme for the upcoming country focus.

A good short film needs to have a good suspense.

After a few years of being in the audience of cellu l’art I wanted to go behind the scenes. It is also the perfect place to indulge my passion for film.

A good short film must be captivating, exciting, make you sad, laugh or pensive....

A good short film has to do so much that I can’t name it all, in such a short time, that I can watch it anytime without problem.

It only took visiting the festival one time to get enthused about the work of cellu l’art. The special thing for me: Even without any experience I was welcomed and can get first glimpses into the organization of a film festival. Obviously it is a lot of fun to work with this team and they always offer support when needed.

A good short film hast to make its point quickly and to fully take my attention.

In 2015 I went to cellu l’art for the first time as a viewer. I was immediately delighted by the atmosphere of it. With the prospect of watching many exciting short films beforehand, I ended up in the team.

A good short film has to show a story that I will remember for a long time.

I went to the festival as a viewer in 2015 and I was enthralled. I wanted to peek behind the scenes and to support the team.

A good short film has to surprise me and to show its dramaturgical and aesthetic perfection in a very limited timeframe.

We made something out of nothing and all of our commitment makes big cinema out of that something. We make cinema and that’s a lot of emotion for all of us.

A good short film for me is the art to create 10 minutes of enthralling entertainment full of depth, wit and charm.

Why am I at cellu l'art? Funny story actually: I was sitting, completely clueless (so totally normal) in a required course of Latin when my lecturer asked me at the end if I wanted to organise a short film festival… No, but seriously: Once you’ve done it, it’s like a drug!

A good short film has to have IT and definitely belongs (back) in cinemas.
